One Publish button. A complete GDSN platform behind it.

The SyncForce GDSN Connector is the largest and most complex part of SyncForce. For your team, it is one button.

The right data pool for you.

The data model and the data pool are both set per target market. We connect to the data pools you need: for example 1WorldSync/atrify in Germany, and GS1 Data Source in the Netherlands, the data pool GS1 Netherlands runs on TradeConnectors. Active in several markets, or grown through acquisitions? SyncForce publishes to several data pools at once, configured per sender GLN. A German group that acquired a Belgian company publishes for both, from one SyncForce environment.

Every local data model.

SyncForce transforms your data to the GS1 data model of each target market, and runs national and GS1 validations before anything is sent.

Target-market rules, applied for you.

Each market has its own rules, and SyncForce applies them when you publish:

  • Germany: additives are taken from the ingredient list and sent as separate data, with their function, as the German data model requires.
  • Austria: Nutri-Score is left out, because the Austrian data model does not allow it, even when it is on pack.
  • Allergens: the right code list for each target market.
  • Germany: packaging material data on non-GTIN pallets is left out.

Complex hierarchies, published complete.

One Sales Unit in five transport units (case 8, case 10, case 12, tray 24, tray 36)? More than 50 hierarchies per Sales Unit, mixed pallets and displays are all standard

Several recipes on one Sales Unit.

Mix packs with separate label information per recipe, for example three nutrition tables on one pack, under EU food (1169/2011) and pet food (767/2009) rules.

Packaging data on every level.

From Sales Unit to case, tray, display and pallet, including packaging made of several elements with several materials each

Retailer feedback back in SyncForce.

Catalogue Item Confirmation (CIC) messages show whether a recipient synchronised, rejected or wants changes, for example a correct gross weight. You fix the data in SyncForce and publish again.

Always on the latest GDSN release

GS1 updates GDSN several times a year. We follow every GS1 release and newsletter, and implement each GDSN release in the connector before its go-live date, at no extra project cost. Our release notes tell you exactly what changed and whether you need to act.

Example: for the GS1 Benelux release of 22 August 2026 (GDSN 3.1.36), with more than 15 new validations, most changes were handled inside SyncForce and the mappings. Customers only checked the items marked “Action”. Read the release note

Small print: if a release adds a new data area that you choose to manage, for example detailed packaging material specifications, setting up that data can be a separate project.

Shaping GDSN, not just following it

SyncForce is an Official GS1 Solution Partner in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium/Luxembourg. We take part in expert groups run by GS1 in Europe, and we work with GS1 Global in the Data-Driven Value Chain (DDVC) programme of the Consumer Goods Forum on the strategic direction of GDSN. In September 2026, SyncForce presented the PPWR, EPR and Digital Product Passport status update at the Consumer Goods Forum IOO·Horizon event in Sitges.

For you, that means we see changes coming early, and your GDSN set-up is ready when they arrive.

Why brands choose SyncForce for GDSN

Brands in Food, Pet Food and other packaged goods sectors choose SyncForce for two reasons: we know their industry and deliver the functionality it needs as standard, and our GDSN connector supports everything directly from SyncForce, not partly through spreadsheets and web portals.

GDSN at scale

SyncForce customers publish thousands of new and updated trade hierarchies to GDSN every year, all with the same Publish button.

Customer Trade hierarchies published per year (new and updated)
Non-food brand (housewares) 10,651
Non-food brand (garden) 10,040
Food company 9,298

An international food manufacturer: before SyncForce, publishing one trade item to GS1 took 45 minutes. Now it takes 2 minutes.
